Did you know that stress actually decreases your immune system?
Our world is a bit crazy right now with COVID, elections and so many other distracting events. We need a strong immune system as our best defense against all the virus’s that are floating around this time of year. So here is a quick easy way to decrease your stress quickly and easily and give your immune system a boost.
First, find a comfortable place to sit or lie down where you can safely close your eyes.
Second, rate your stress on a level of 1-5. 1 being barely there and 5 being tight muscles, worry, etc.
Third, close your eyes. Now look up keeping your eyes closed and take a deep breath for the count of 4 or 5. Hold that breath for the count of 4 or 5 and then let it out until you can no longer push air out. Breathe normal for a few breaths and repeat. Rate your stress again. Repeat until you feel that the stress level has dropped significantly.
Now think of a time when you felt happy. Replay that movie in your mind as if you were in a theater and could see yourself on the screen. Feel the happiness bring it with you as you open your eyes and continue in your day!
